About Real Church

Why we are here

Real Church exists to reach people who are far from God and to place them on the path to life change. Although we maintain a conservative biblical position, we are anything but a traditional church. We have chosen to harness the methodology of our ever-changing culture and wrap it around the timeless truths of the Word of God, in order to be effective and relevant.

“If you could cut Jesus, he would bleed lost people!”

What we believe

The Bible – God wrote a book (2 Timothy 3:15-17; 1 Thessalonians 2:13)

2 Timothy 3:15-17
15and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. 16All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
1 Thessalonians 2:13
13And we also thank God continually because, when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as a human word, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is indeed at work in you who believe.

The Trinity – God: Three in one (Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Genesis 1:26)

Matthew 28:19
19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
2 Corinthians 13:14
14May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
Genesis 1:26
26Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”

The Father – The “I AM” is love (Deuteronomy 6:4; 1 John 4:8)

Deuteronomy 6:4
4Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.
1 John 4:8
8Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.

The Son – God became a man (Isaiah 9:6; Luke 1:30-35; 2 Corinthians 5:21)

Isaiah 9:6
6For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Luke 1:30-35
30But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God. 31You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. 32He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, 33and he will reign over Jacob’s descendants forever; his kingdom will never end.”
34“How will this be,” Mary asked the angel, “since I am a virgin?”
35The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God.
2 Corinthians 5:21
21God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

The Holy Spirit – The Help (John 14:16-17; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 12:7-11)

John 14:16-17
16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— 17the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.
Acts 1:8
8But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
1 Corinthians 12:7-11
7Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. 8To one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another a message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, 9to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, 10to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues. 11All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines.

The Church – Go, Do, Be (Matthew 28:19; Acts 1:8; Ephesians 4:11-13)

Matthew 28:19
19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
Acts 1:8
8But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
Ephesians 4:11-13
11So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, 12to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

The Only Way – Salvation in Christ (John 14:6; Romans 6:23; Romans 10:9-11)

John 14:6
6Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
Romans 6:23
23For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 10:9-11
9If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. 11As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.”

The Hope – “I’ll Be Back” (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Matthew 16:27; Romans 8:23)

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17
16For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.
Matthew 16:27
27For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father’s glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what they have done.
Romans 8:23
23Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption to sonship, the redemption of our bodies.

The Promise – Forever (2 Peter 3:13; Matthew 25:46; Revelation 21-22)

2 Peter 3:13
13But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells.
Matthew 25:46
46 “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”
Revelation 21-22
